What is Imagery?: Imagery is giving the reader an image of what you are writing.
What is it's effect/ why is it used?: The purpose of imagery is to take advantage of all of a reader's senses and build them into something vivid and real in the reader's imagination.
Three Examples:
- The lake was left shivering by the touch of morning wind.
- The pot was as red as a tongue after a cherry-flavored ring pop.
- He felt like the flowers were waving hello.
