Art Blog

Art blog
What theme I chose and why I chose it: My original theme was Sea animals mutated with other sea animals, although I didn't end up doing this theme I still liked the idea of it. The theme I ended up sticking with was water landscapes, I chose this theme because I thought I was good at it and because I liked making water landscapes.

The style of my artwork was based on Claude Monet, Vincent Vahn Gogh, and Jim warren were the inspiration for the style of my artwork. Although they were my inspiration I added my own style into my board instead of copying their style completely.

Term one:
During term one I was focusing on my original board Idea which was mutated sea animals. Throughout this term I made many sketches of mutated sea animals, unfortunately, I threw most of the sketches out because I wasn't happy with what I was drawing. I had started to draw a whale and a shark mutated, the whale and shark were one of the larger pieces of work that I was going to put on my board, I had drawn the mutated shark whale multiple times because I

Term two: Aswell as term one I was doing my original idea, I was also doing it throughout term two. One week before the end of term two I realized I didn't want to do mutated sea animals anymore and asked the teacher If I could do a whole new different board. I eventually convinced my teacher to allow me to do a new board and I started to plan a whole new board with my teacher.

Term three: During term three I started creating my new board idea which was water landscapes. Throughout this term, I was contemplating changing my board idea again because nothing I was drawing looked right to me. My teacher convinced me to keep the board I was doing
I had started drawing mostly all of the paintings I needed to put on my board. I had started drawing one of the larger paintings that I was putting on my board.

Term four: During term four I was focused on getting my artboard finished, I had thrown many paintings out because I didn't like them. I was panicking because I didn't think I would get my artboard finished before the deadline. Closer to the end of the term I was focusing on the smaller paintings I needed to do

What I have learnt this term-Home economics

This term we have been looking at Food Nutritional guidelines.
(FNG)
1.  Eat a variety of foods from each of the four major food groups
Different nutrients, Vitamins
2. Eat enough for activity, growth, and to maintain a healthy body size
Protein- Muscles, Calcium- Bones, Carbs, Iron
3. 2L water/ day
4. 60 mins of exercise- Moderate/ High
5. Foods should be prepared with low fat/ sugar/ salt

From this, I have learnt the following three things:
The servings everyone should be having
The Food Nutritional Guidelines
Complex Carbohydrates take longer to break down into glucose meaning when eating Complex Carbohydrates you have energy for longer

In the future, I will be able to use this information by preparing healthier meals following The Food Nutritional guidelines
We are doing this to ensure we have a healthier lifestyle, to avoid heart problems, diabetes, and obesity

During the practical lessons, we have demonstrated how to cook foods by lowering fats/salt and sugars.
Example of how we did this was
During the practical lesson, we steamed the vegetables in a steam basket over a pot of water to ensure the nutrients from the vegetables stay in the vegetables.
We used spray oil on the pan instead of using oil which reduces the fat intake
We used natural sweeteners

English- Language Features

Imagery:
What is Imagery?: Imagery is giving the reader an image of what you are writing.
What is it's effect/ why is it used?: The purpose of imagery is to take advantage of all of a reader's senses and build them into something vivid and real in the reader's imagination.
Three Examples:
  • The lake was left shivering by the touch of morning wind.
  • The pot was as red as a tongue after a cherry-flavored ring pop.
  • He felt like the flowers were waving hello.

Language Feature: Anaphora- English

Anaphora:

What is it? Anaphora is a use of a word that you have written earlier on in the 'text'

Why is it used/ what is the effect? Anaphora is the repetition of a certain word or phrase at the beginning of successive lines of writing or speech. ... As a rhetorical device or a technique that an author uses to persuade, anaphora is used for the purpose of generating a particular effect in your audience.

Find two examples online:
Every day, every night, in every way, I am getting better and better
Everything looked dark and bleak, everything looked gloomy, and everything was under a blanket of mist.”

Write one example yourself: Laughing by myself, crying by myself, working by myself
